ENGINE MOUNT [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

  • The engine mount secures the engine to the vehicle body, reducing vibration and noise. In addition, the engine drive force is transmitted efficiently to the powertrain by the engine mounts absorbing various forces while the vehicle is driven.

Construction

  • The engine is supported at three points: the lower right side of the engine (engine mount (RH)), the lower left side of the engine (engine mount (LH)) and the lower rear of the transmission (power plant frame). For details on the power plant frame, refer to POWER PLANT FRAME. (See POWER PLANT FRAME (PPF).)

  • The metal parts of the engine mount bracket and engine mount rubber are made of aluminum alloy to achieve weight reduction.
