FUEL PUMP RELAY [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

  • The fuel pump relay switches the fuel pump on/off according to control signals from the PCM.

  • Operates the fuel pump only at engine start or while the engine is running.

Construction

  • The fuel pump relay is located on the relay and fuse block.

  • A normally open relay has been adopted for the fuel pump relay. When electric current flows to the coil, the contact point is drawn by the generated electromagnetic power and switches on.

Operation

  • The contact point is on (1) when the coil is energized based on the signals from the PCM.

  • Battery voltage is supplied (2) to the fuel pump.

Fail-safe

  • Not applicable
