PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

U.S.A and CANADA Specs.

Purpose, function
  • Prevents fuel tank damage by controlling the vacuum applied to the fuel tank from the charcoal canister while the purge solenoid valve is open.

Construction
  • The pressure control valve is located between the fuel tank and charcoal canister.

  • The pressure control valve is integrated with the evaporative hose.

  • The pressure control valve consists of the spring diaphragm, and orifice.

Operation
  • Air is taken in from the orifice and sent to the fuel tank to prevent generation of negative pressure.

  • When the evaporative gas generated inside the fuel tank reaches the charcoal canister, the pressure control valve opens.

  • When the purge solenoid valve is open, the pressure control valve is closed to suppress the intake manifold vacuum applied to the fuel tank.
