UNDER COVER AERODYNAMIC PERFORMANCE
Purpose
Under covers and deflectors have been adopted to straighten the wind flow along the underside of the vehicle.
Function, Construction
A deflector is equipped in front of each tire to straighten the wind flow passing around the tire and alongside the vehicle.
By equipping the under covers to the uneven areas on the underside of the vehicle, the underside of the vehicle becomes flat and the wind flow is straightened.
Front under cover/front crossmember under cover
Prevents wind flow into the engine compartment, allowing it to flow straight back to the rear of the vehicle.
Front deflector/rear deflector
Prevents wind flow into the tire housings and straightens wind flow away from the body side, allowing it to flow to the rear of the vehicle.
Front and rear tire deflectors prevent the wind flow from hitting the rotating tires to reduce aerodynamic drag.
Center under cover
Straightens wind flow under the floor.
Floor under cover
Prevents wind flow from swirling between the floor and the fuel tank, allowing it to flow to the rear of the vehicle.
