OIL SEAL (EXTENSION HOUSING) REPLACEMENT [M66M-D]

1. Remove the tunnel member.

2. Detach the HO2S clip from the catalytic converter (TWC). (See HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
3. Disconnect the catalytic converter (TWC) from the exhaust manifold. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
4. Suspend the catalytic converter (TWC) using a cable as shown in the figure.

5. Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6. Press the position of the oil seal shown in the figure with a flathead screwdriver and raise the oil seal.

7. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the gap made in Step 7 and remove the oil seal.

8. Using the SST (49 B025 004), tap in a new oil seal until it contacts the case.

9. Apply the specified oil to the oil seal lip.
10. Install the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
11. Install the catalytic converter (TWC) to the exhaust manifold. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
12. Install the HO2S clip to the catalytic converter (TWC). (See HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
13. Install the tunnel member.
