OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CALIBRATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]

CAUTION:

  • If there is a large temperature difference between the occupant classification mat sensor and the occupant classification sensor unit, calibration may not be performed correctly. When performing calibration, keep the temperature of the occupant classification mat sensor and the occupant classification sensor unit nearly uniform.

  • If any of the following work is performed, perform the occupant classification sensor calibration using the M-MDS.

    • Replacement with a new occupant classification sensor

    • Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts

    • Disassembly of the passenger-side seat

  • If any of the following work is performed, perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS and verify that no DTCs are displayed. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].)

    • Removal of the passenger-side seat

    • Loosening and retightening of passenger’s seat fixing bolts

    • Or, the vehicle is involved in a collision

NOTE:

  • If any DTCs are displayed, perform malfunction repair referring to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].)

1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.
a. Select “Body”.
b. Select “Calibration for Passenger Seat Sensor”.
3. Perform calibration following the procedures on the M-MDS screen.
