DTC INSPECTION [BCM]
CMDTC Self Test
1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2. Verify the following vehicle conditions:
All the switches are turned off (except the ignition switch).
All the doors, hood, and trunk are closed.
All the doors, and trunk are unlocked.
All the seat belts are unbuckled.
Parking brake lever is pulled.
3. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.a. Select “Self Test”.b. Select “All CMDTCs”.
4. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the screen.
If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection after recording the snapshot data. (See DTC TABLE [BCM].)
5. After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs stored in the BCM. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)
ODDTC Self Test
1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
2. Verify the following vehicle conditions:
All the switches are turned off (except the ignition switch).
All the doors, hood, and trunk are closed.
All the doors, and trunk are unlocked.

3. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.a. Select “Self Test”.b. Select “Modules”.c. Select “BCM”.
Snapshot Data
NOTE:
The BCM stores the following two types of snapshot data (vehicle information) when a DTC is detected and displays them in the M-MDS.
Vehicle information detected by BCM
Vehicle information detected by instrument cluster and received by BCM via CAN communication
—: Not applicable
The data for all DTCs currently detected is stored.
