Description

Collision detection unlock function operation

Detection condition

  • Electrical supply unit (ESU) operates the collision detection unlock function.

Fail-safe

Not applicable

Possible cause

CAUTION:

  • The electrical supply unit (ESU) operates the collision detection unlock function in the event of a collision to enhance rescue operation from outside the vehicle. The electrical supply unit (ESU) operates the collision detection unlock function and outputs this DTC simultaneously. Explain to the customer that this may not indicate a malfunction even if this DTC is output.

  • Collision detection unlock function operated due to vehicle collision.

  • Electrical supply unit (ESU) internal malfunction

VERIFY IF COLLISION DETECTION UNLOCK FUNCTION OPERATED
  • Lock all the doors by operating the driver’s door lock knob.

  • Clear the DTC for the electrical supply unit (ESU) using the M-MDS.

    (See CLEARING DTC [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU)].)

  • Retrieve the electrical supply unit (ESU) DTCs using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU)].)

  • Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Replace the electrical supply unit (ESU), then go to the next step.

(See ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU)].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
