OUTER MIRROR GLASS INSTALLATION

1. To facilitate installation of the outer mirror glass, orient the outer mirror in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

CAUTION:

  • Be careful not to overheat the outer mirror, as temperatures higher than 60°C {108°F} deform it.

2. Installation of the outer mirror glass can be facilitated by heating the outer mirror glass holder to approx. 50°C {90°F} to 60°C {108°F} using a drier.

3. Affix the protective tape to the position shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

4. Connect the auto-dimming outer mirror connector. (with auto-dimming outer mirror)
5. Connect the connectors (with heated outer mirror).

6. Connect the connector (with blind spot monitoring (BSM) system).

7. Install the wiring harness for hooks.
8. Press in outer mirror pin A and B in the direction of arrows shown in the figure.

CAUTION:

  • If the outer mirror moves when installing the outer mirror glass, the stay could be damaged. When installing the outer mirror glass, use both hands to press together the outer mirror glass and outer mirror.

9. Align the outer mirror glass with the outer mirror in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and while pressing in the direction of arrow (2), install pin.

10. Install pin A and B in the same way as in Step 6.

11. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
