RESONANCE CHAMBER [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

    Resonance chamber No.1
  • To reduce intake air noise, pulsation of intake air is controlled by using a resonance chamber on the intake air passage.

    Resonance chamber No.2 (if equipped)
  • To generated pleasing intake air sound, pulsation of intake air is controlled by using a resonance chamber on the intake air passage.

Construction

    Resonance chamber No.1
  • Resonance chamber No.1 is located on the air cleaner.

  • Resonance chamber No.1 has a space for filling a part of the air introduced from the fresh-air duct to control the pulsation of intake air.

    Resonance chamber No.2 (if equipped)
  • Resonance chamber No.2 is located between the air intake hose No.2 and air intake hose No.3.

  • Resonance chamber No.2 has an internal space for generating a pleasant intake air sound. In addition, it is equipped with an internal damper to avoid negatively affecting the engine control by introducing air from the air intake hose No.3 side.
