MAIN SILENCER [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

  • The main silencer reduces exhaust noise.

Construction

  • The main silencer is located at the rear of the vehicle, under the trunk compartment.

  • The main silencer consists of the filter, stuffing filter, stuffing holder, and set plate.

  • The set plate is used for securing the stuffing filter and stuffing holder, and it is also used as a partition for sound insulation.

  • The stuffing holder supports the stuffing filter.

  • The stuffing filter becomes a passage for the exhaust gas.

  • The exhaust noise is reduced because the gas diffuses in each chamber of the silencer.
