CHECK VALVE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose, Function

  • The check valve adjusts and maintains the pressure in the fuel tank at a constant pressure.

Construction

U.S.A. and CANADA specs.
  • The check valve is located between the fuel tank and fuel-filler pipe.

  • The check valve consists of the valve, and spring.

Except U.S.A. and CANADA specs.
  • The check valve is located between the fuel tank and charcoal canister.

  • The check valve consists of the valve, spring, and umbrella.

Operation

U.S.A. and CANADA specs.
  • When refueling, the valve is opened and the passage to the fuel-filler pipe from the fuel tank is opened to release air in the fuel tank.

  • The valve is closed to prevent pressure change in the fuel tank except when refueling.

Except U.S.A. and CANADA specs.
  • When the pressure in the fuel tank reaches positive pressure, the evaporative gas passage opens to introduce the evaporative gas from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister.

  • When the pressure in the fuel tank reaches negative pressure due to fuel consumption, the evaporative gas passage opens to introduce atmosphere from the charcoal canister to the fuel tank.
