CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

U.S.A. and CANADA Specs.

Purpose, function

  • When the PCM performs the operation to detect the following based on the fuel tank pressure sensor signal, the CV solenoid valve shuts off the atmospheric side of the charcoal canister.

    • Gas leakage and blockage from passage

    • Leakage from fuel tank

    • Fuel-filler cap not closed

Construction

  • CV solenoid valve is located on the charcoal canister.

  • The CV solenoid valve consists of a valve, spring, coil, and plunger.

Operation

  • According to the control signal from the PCM, the coil is energized and the plunger opens/closes the CV solenoid valve.

  • The PCM closes the valve when it diagnoses a gas leak in the fuel tank and passage or blockage in the passage.

  • The valve opens when the PCM does not perform a diagnosis.

Fail-safe

  • Function not equipped.
