SELECT MODE INDICATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose

  • The select mode indication notifies the driver that the sport mode has been selected using the drive selection switch, or that switching of the drive selection is not possible.

Function

  • The instrument cluster turns the select mode indication on based on the select mode indication on request signal from the PCM.

  • The instrument cluster flashes the select mode indication based on the select mode indication flash request signal from the PCM.

Construction

  • The select mode indication is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

1. The instrument cluster receives (1) a select mode indication on or flash request signal from the PCM via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) intermittently when it receives a select mode indication flash request signal, and it turns the transistor on continuously when it receives a select mode indication on request signal.
3. The select mode indication flashes (3) when the transistor is turned on intermittently, and it turns on (3) when the transistor is turned on continuously.
