NEUTRAL SWITCH [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Purpose

  • The neutral switch detects the neutral position of the shift lever.

Function

  • The manual transmission condition required for each control of the engine is detected.

Construction

  • The neutral switch is located on the manual transmission.

  • A pushed-in type rod has been adopted for the neutral switch.

  • The relation of the shift lever, rod and neutral switch is as follows.

Operation

1. When the shift lever is in the neutral position, the neutral switch rod is pushed in.
2. When the rod is pushed in, the neutral switch turns on (1).
3. When the neutral switch is on, the PCM detects (2) a neutral switch ON signal.
