SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR

Purpose/Function

  • The shift position indication indicates the selector lever position.

Construction

  • The shift position indication is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

  • P, R, N or D range

    • The TCM detects the selector lever position based on an analog signal from the TR switch.

    • The TCM sends a shift position indication illumination request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN.

  • M range

    • The instrument cluster detects the selector lever position based on a signal from the M range switch inside the selector lever component.
