TRUNK COMPARTMENT LIGHT

Purpose

  • The trunk compartment light illuminates the trunk room interior when the trunk lid is opened.

Function

  • When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives a trunk compartment light on request signal from the BCM, the trunk compartment light turns on by turning the trunk compartment light switch on.

Construction

  • The trunk compartment light is positioned on the trunk end trim.

Operation

1. When the trunk lid is opened, the trunk lid latch switch is on (1) and the BCM detects (2) a trunk lid latch switch on signal.
2. When the BCM detects the trunk lid latch switch on signal, it sends (3) the trunk compartment light on request signal to the electrical supply unit (ESU) via LIN communication.
3. When the electrical supply unit (ESU) receives the trunk compartment light on request signal, it turns the transistor on (4).
4. When the trunk compartment light switch is on (5), the trunk compartment light bulb turns on (6).
