AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT/SD SLOT HUB [WITH CENTER DISPLAY]

NOTE:

Purpose, Function

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub outputs the audio signal from an on-market, portable audio or USB device, connected to the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub, and the map information of the SD card to the connectivity master unit (CMU) and the tuner and amplifier unit (TAU).

Construction

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub is built into the auxiliary jack, USB port, and SD card slot.

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub is located in the front console.

Operation

Auxiliary jack
  • When selecting the AUX mode using the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal (1) to the TAU.

  • The AUX/USB/SD card slot sends (2) the analog signal (audio signal), sent from the portable audio connected to the auxilliary jack, to the TAU.

  • The TAU outputs (3) the audio from the speakers based on the received audio signal.

USB port
  • When selecting the USB mode using the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal (1) to the TAU.

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub sends (2) the digital data (audio signal/music information such as album name or artist name) of the USB device/iPod connected to the USB port to the CMU.

  • The CMU converts the received music information to a LVDS signal, sends (3) it to the center display, and the audio signal is sent (3) to the TAU.

  • The center display displays (4) the music information based on the LVDS signal. In addition, the TAU sends (4) the received audio signal to the speakers.

  • The speakers output (5) the audio based on the received audio signal.

SD card slot (With car-navigation system)

NOTE:

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub can only read map information on the SD card (genuine Mazda). Music and image information stored on an SD card (genuine Mazda) and the information stored on an SD card other than a genuine Mazda SD card cannot be read.

  • When selecting the navigation mode using the center display or the commander switch, the CMU sends a control signal (1) to the TAU.

  • The auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub sends (2) the map information of the SD card inserted into the SD card slot to the CMU.

  • The CMU converts the received map information to a LVDS signal and sends (3) it to the center display.

  • The center display displays (4) the map information based on the received LVDS signal.
