AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER]

CAUTION:

  • If the gear position exceeds the operation range shown in the figure, the circuit in the actuator could be damaged. Always perform an actuator operation inspection with the gear movement within the range shown in the figure.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Passenger’s side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Passenger’s side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Passenger’s side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the screw.

4. Remove the side duct.
5. Remove the duct.
6. Remove the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)
7. Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to the air mix actuator terminals as indicated in the table below and verify the operation condition.

8. Verify that the resistance between terminals D and E, E and F matches the air mix actuator operation as shown in the graph.

  • If the operation condition and resistance are not normal, replace the air mix actuator. (See AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)
