DTC U0533:68 [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER]

Description

Error signal received from blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH)

Detection condition

  • Instrument cluster receives the error signals from the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

Fail-safe

Not applicable

Possible cause

  • DTCs are stored in the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH).

  • Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) malfunction

  • Instrument cluster malfunction

VERIFY BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) DTCs
  • Retrieve the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) DTCs using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE].)

  • Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
  • Clear the DTC for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.

    (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 20 s or more.

  • Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

  • Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH), then go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 4.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
  • Clear the DTC for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.

    (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 20 s or more.

  • Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

  • Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
