DOOR ADJUSTMENT

1. Measure the clearance and height difference between the door and the vehicle body.

    Standard clearance
  • a: 2.8—4.8 mm {0.12—0.18 in}

  • b: –1.5—0.5 mm {–0.05—0.01 in}

  • c: 3.0—4.8 mm {0.12—0.18 in}

  • d: –1.7—0.3 mm {–0.06—0.01 in}

  • e: 2.8—4.8 mm {0.12—0.18 in}

  • f: –1.7—0.3 mm {–0.06—0.01 in}

  • g: 2.5—4.5 mm {0.10—0.17 in}

  • h: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

  • i: 2.8—4.8 mm {0.12—0.18 in}

  • j: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

  • k: 2.8—4.8 mm {0.12—0.18 in}

  • l: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

  • If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

    • Loosen the door hinge installation bolts, move the door, and adjust the installation position. (See DOOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

    • Tighten the door hinge installation bolts. (See DOOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

    • Verify that the clearances and height difference between the door and the vehicle body is within the standard clearance.

    • If the door does not open/close smoothly, adjust it by loosening the door lock striker installation screw. (See DOOR LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Verify that the door opens/closes smoothly.
