ROOF HOOK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. While pressing tabs in the direction of arrows (1), remove the roof hook lever in the direction of arrow (2).

3. Remove the following parts:
a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Shift lever knob (MT)
c. Shift panel assembly (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Parking brake lever boot panel(See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
g. Scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
h. Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
i. Wind blocker (See WIND BLOCKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
j. Front seat back bar garnish (See SEAT BACK BAR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
k. Quarter trim (See QUARTER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
l. Back trim (See BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the bolts.

5. Remove the roof hook.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Roof Hook Lever Installation Note.)

Roof Hook Lever Installation Note

CAUTION:

  • If the roof hook lever is installed incorrectly when installing it to the roof hook, the roof hook tabs may be damaged. When installing the roof hook lever, install it while thoroughly verifying the installation area.

  • When installing the roof hook lever, perform the following procedure:

1. Align the guides with the roof hook grooves, and insert them to install the roof hook lever.

2. Verify that there is no gap between the back trim and the roof hook lever.

  • If there is a gap between the back trim and the roof hook lever, remove the roof hook lever and reinstall it.

  • If any of the roof hook lever tabs are damaged, replace them with new ones.
