LICENSE PLATE LIGHT SHORT-CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the trunk end trim. (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the following parts:
a. Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Rear splash shield (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Rear bumper stay (See REAR BUMPER STAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Rear bumper retainer No.1 (See REAR BUMPER RETAINER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL.) (See REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION.)
5. Disconnect the connectors.

6. Slide clips A in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull clips A in the direction of arrow (2) to detach clips A from the back-up light or the rear bumper.
7. While pressing the clip B tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip B in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip B tabs from the back-up light.
8. While pressing the clip C tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip C in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip C tabs from the rear bumper.
9. While pressing the clip D tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the clip D in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip D tabs from the back-up light.
10. Remove the license plate light short-cord.
11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
