Purpose, Function

• The spark plug generates spark and ignites the compressed air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.

• Exclusive SKYACTIV-G iridium spark plugs have been adopted to improve excellent ignition performance and durability.

Construction

• The spark plugs are located on the top of each cylinder head combustion chamber.

  

• The core of the flame has increased and the ignition performance has been improved by the following:

• extreme thinning of the center electrode

• adopting highly durable iridium to the center electrode

• thinning the ground electrode

• adopting a platinum chip to the ground electrode
