Purpose

  • The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light notifies the driver of a malfunction in the air bag system.

Function

  • The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light displays DTCs by the flashing/being illuminated.

  • The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light flashes/turns on in the pattern shown in the figure.

  • If there are several malfunctions in the air bag system, the DTC of the highest priority ranking is displayed first. For details on DTCs, refer to [ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]]. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

Construction

  • The air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light is built into the instrument cluster.

  • For vehicles with center display, a warning message in the center display is displayed when the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light is turned on or flashing. For the message content and verification method, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY [WITH CENTER DISPLAY]]. (See CENTER DISPLAY [WITH CENTER DISPLAY].)

Operation

3. When the transistor is turned on intermittently, the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light flashes (3), and when it is turned on continuously, the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on (3).
