INDICATOR UNIT

Purpose

  • The indicator unit notifies the user of the following conditions.

    • Passenger's side seat belt fastened condition

    • Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch condition (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)

    • Seat warmer operation condition (with seat warmer system)

Functions

  • The indicator unit turns the passenger's side seat belt warning light on/off based on the request signal sent from the instrument cluster.

Seat warmer switch function (With seat warmer system)
  • The indicator unit switches the temperature level (number of indicators turned on) in the order of 3, 2, 1, and OFF according to the seat warmer switch operation, and sends the temperature level signal to the seat warmer unit.

  • The indicator unit records the temperature level (number of indicators turned on) when the ignition is switched from ON (engine off or on) to off, and operates at the recorded temperature level (number of indicators turned on) when the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) again.

  • If the battery power supply is disconnected, the temperature level recorded by the indicator unit is eliminated.

Construction

  • The indicator unit is positioned in the front console.

  • The indicator unit consists of the following parts.

    • Passenger's side seat belt warning light

    • Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) lettering illumination (With passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)

    • Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) OFF indicator light (With passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)

    • Seat warmer switch (With seat warmer system)

Operation

Passenger's side seat belt warning light
1. When the indicator unit receives (1) the passenger's seat belt warning light on request signal from the instrument cluster while the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it turns on (2) the transistor.
2. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the passenger's side seat belt warning light is established and the passenger's side seat belt warning light turns on (3).

Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator light (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)

Seat warmer switch (With seat warmer system)
