DETECTION CONDITION

  • Configuration error is detected.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

  • Refer to “Fail-safe function table”. (See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM].)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • Configuration procedure is not done properly

  • Correct data cannot be received from instrument cluster

  • Another vehicles control modules (instrument cluster, PCM, DSC HU/CM) been installed

RECORD CONFIGURATION DATA
  • Switch the ignition OFF.

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off), and maintain this condition for approx. 10 s or more.

  • Switch the ignition OFF, and maintain this condition for approx. 3 s or more.

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off), and maintain this condition for approx. 3 s or more.

Go to the next step.

VERIFY DSC HU/CM DTC
  • Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM.

    (See CLEARING DTC [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step1.

If the malfunction recurs, go to the next step.

No

Go to Step6.

VERIFY IF PARTS FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE INSTALLED TO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, PCM OR DSC HU/CM
  • Verify if an instrument cluster, PCM or DSC HU/CM from another vehicle is installed.

  • Has an instrument cluster, PCM, DSC HU/CM or other vehicle part been installed to vehicle?

Yes

Install the correct instrument cluster, PCM or DSC HU/CM, then go to Step1.

(See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

(See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PCM DTC
  • Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster and PCM DTC inspection.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

    (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)].)

  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

(See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.0)].)

DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY DSC HU/CM DTC
  • Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the DSC HU/CM.

    (See CLEARING DTC [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Using the M-MDS, perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step1.

If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

(See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT
  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [DSC HU/CM].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
