CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]

NOTE:

  • The climate control unit prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.

  • The new climate control unit does not store any vehicle specification information.

  • When the ignition is switched ON after the climate control unit is replaced, the climate control unit reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster, and stores the vehicle specification information.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Shift lever knob (MT)
c. Shift panel component (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Parking brake lever boot panel (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
g. Front console panel (See FRONT CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
h. Front console component (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
i. Scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
j. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
k. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
l. Hood release lever (See HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
m. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
n. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
o. Center panel No.1 (See CENTER PANEL No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Disconnect the connector.

4. Disconnect the hose.
5. Remove the screws.

6. Remove the climate control unit.
7. Disconnect the connector.
8. Remove the passenger compartment temperature sensor. (See PASSENGER COMPARTMENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
9. While pressing the sensor grille tab, press the sensor grille in the direction of arrow (1) to detach the sensor grille tab from the climate control unit.

10. Remove the sensor grille.
11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
12. Perform the climate control unit auto configuration using the following procedure.
a. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 min or more.
b. Switch the ignition off and wait for 3 s or more.
c. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and complete the climate control unit auto configuration.
13. Perform the DTC inspection for the climate control unit using the M-MDS. (See DTC DISPLAY [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)
  • If a DTC is detected, perform troubleshooting according to the DTC. (See DTC TABLE [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)
