DTC B1D06:13 [BCM]

Description

Turn light (LH) circuit malfunction

Detection condition

  • BCM detects an open circuit or short to power supply in the turn light (LH) circuit with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

Fail-safe

Not applicable

Possible cause

  • BCM connector or terminal malfunction

  • Front turn light bulb (LH) malfunction

  • Front combination light (LH) connector or terminal malfunction

  • Open circuit in wiring harness between front combination light (LH) terminal M and body ground

  • Side turn light (LH) connector or terminal malfunction

  • Side turn light bulb (LH) malfunction

  • Open circuit in wiring harness between side turn light (LH) terminal B and body ground

  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:

    • Front combination light (LH) terminal E—BCM terminal 3B

    • Side turn light (LH) terminal A—BCM terminal 3B

  • Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:

    • Front combination light (LH) terminal E—BCM terminal 3B

    • Side turn light (LH) terminal A—BCM terminal 3B

  • Rear turn light bulb (LH) malfunction

  • Rear combination light (LH) connector or terminal malfunction

  • Open circuit in wiring harness between rear combination light (LH) terminal F and body ground

  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between rear combination light (LH) terminal A and BCM terminal 1G

  • Open circuit in wiring harness between rear combination light (LH) terminal A and BCM terminal 1G

  • BCM malfunction

 VERIFY BCM DTCs AGAIN

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 20.

2

 DETERMINE MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT

  • Operate the turn switch to the LH position.

  • Are there any lights among the following which do not flash or continue to be illuminated?

    • Front turn light (LH)

    • Side turn light (LH)

    • Rear turn light (LH)

Yes

All lights do not flash or continue to be illuminated:

  • Go to the next step.

Front turn light (LH) and side turn light (LH) does not flash or continue to be illuminated:

  • Go to Step 4.

Rear turn light (LH) do not flash or continue to be illuminated:

  • Go to Step 13.

No

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Disconnect the BCM connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to Step 19.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 VISUALLY INSPECT FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB (LH)

  • Visually inspect the front turn light bulb (LH).

  • Is the front turn light bulb (LH) normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the front turn light bulb (LH), then go to Step 19.

(See FRONT TURN LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

 INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Disconnect the front combination light (LH) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 INSPECT FRONT TURN LIGHT (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

  • Verify that the front combination light (LH) connector is disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between front combination light (LH) terminal M (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between front combination light (LH) terminal M and body ground.

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT SIDE TURN LIGHT (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Disconnect the side turn light (LH) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 INSPECT SIDE TURN LIGHT BULB (LH)

  • Visually inspect the side turn light bulb (LH).

  • Is the side turn light bulb (LH) normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the side turn light (LH), then go to Step 19.

(See SIDE TURN LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

 INSPECT SIDE TURN LIGHT (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

  • Verify that the side turn light (LH) connector is disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between side turn light (LH) terminal B (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between side turn light (LH) terminal B and body ground.

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Disconnect the BCM connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 INSPECT TURN LIGHT (LH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY

  • Verify that the front combination light (LH), side turn light (LH) and BCM connectors are disconnected.

  • Connect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

  • Measure the voltage at the BCM terminal 3B (wiring harness-side).

  • Is the voltage 0 V?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:

  • Front combination light (LH) terminal E—BCM terminal 3B

  • Side turn light (LH) terminal A—BCM terminal 3B

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply.

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT TURN LIGHT (LH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Verify that the front combination light (LH), side turn light (LH) and BCM connectors are disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):

    • Front combination light (LH) terminal E—BCM terminal 3B

    • Side turn light (LH) terminal A—BCM terminal 3B

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Go to Step 19.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:

  • Front combination light (LH) terminal E—BCM terminal 3B

  • Side turn light (LH) terminal A—BCM terminal 3B

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 19.

 VISUALLY INSPECT REAR TURN LIGHT BULB (LH)

  • Visually inspect the rear turn light bulb (LH).

  • Is the rear turn light bulb (LH) normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the rear turn light bulb (LH), then go to Step 19.

(See REAR TURN LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

 INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Disconnect the rear combination light (LH) connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 INSPECT REAR TURN LIGHT (LH) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

  • Verify that the rear combination light (LH) connector is disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between rear combination light (LH) terminal F (wiring harness-side) and body ground.

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between rear combination light (LH) terminal F and body ground.

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION

  • Disconnect the BCM connector.

  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

  • Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 19.

 INSPECT REAR TURN LIGHT (LH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY

  • Verify that the rear combination light (LH) and BCM connectors are disconnected.

  • Connect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

  • Measure the voltage at the BCM terminal 1G (wiring harness-side).

  • Is the voltage 0 V?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between rear combination light (LH) terminal A and BCM terminal 1G.

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to power supply.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to power supply.

Go to Step 19.

 INSPECT REAR TURN LIGHT (LH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

  • Switch the ignition off.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

  • Verify that the rear combination light (LH) and BCM connectors are disconnected.

  • Inspect for continuity between rear combination light (LH) terminal A (wiring harness-side) and BCM terminal 1G (wiring harness-side).

  • Is there continuity?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between rear combination light (LH) terminal A and BCM terminal 1G.

    If there is a common connector:

  • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.

  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

    If there is no common connector:

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to the next step.

 VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

Go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

 VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED

  • Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

(See DTC TABLE [BCM].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
