VENTILATOR GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Center Ventilator Grille No.1

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Center panel No.2 (See CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. While detaching the tabs in the positions shown in the figure, remove center ventilator grille No.1 from center panel No.2.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Center Ventilator Grille No.2

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Center panel No.2 (See CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. While removing the tabs in the positions shown in the figure, remove center ventilator grille No.2 from the meter hood.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Side Ventilator Grille No.1

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Passenger-side scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Passenger-side A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Center panel No.2 (See CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. While removing the tabs in the positions shown in the figure, remove side ventilator grille No.1 from the meter hood.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Side Ventilator Grille No.2

Removal

CAUTION:

  • If work using protective tape is performed in an area where the temperature can increase drastically or the protective tape is left adhered for a long period of time, tape adhesive could remain area where the protective tape was applied when the it is peeled off. When applying protective tape, avoid areas where the temperature of the tape can increase drastically and peel off the protective tape soon after the work is completed.

1. To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure of the dashboard.

2. Insert the remover tool to the positions shown in the figure, separate the welded area by prying the tool, and remove the ventilator grille bezel.

NOTE:

  • The ventilator grille bezel is welded to the ventilator ring.The welded areas of the ventilator grille bezel become separated during removal, therefore it cannot be reused.

3. Insert the remover tool into the positions shown in the figure, move it in the directions of the arrows shown in the figure, and detach the tabs of the ventilator ring and case component from the ventilator grille housing.

4. Insert the remover tool into the positions shown in the figure, move it in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure, and detach the tabs of the ventilator ring and case component from the ventilator grille housing.

5. Remove the ventilator ring and case component in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure.
6. Pass a wiring harness through the position shown in the figure.

NOTE:

  • The wiring harness is used to pull the ventilator grille for removal.

7. Insert a precision flathead screwdriver into the positions shown in the figure and move it in the direction of the arrows (1), and pull out the ventilator grille in the direction of arrow (2) while detaching the ventilator grille tabs from the dashboard.

NOTE:

  • The procedure can be facilitated by inserting spacers to the position of the detached tabs.

8. Insert a precision flathead screwdriver into the positions shown in the figure and move it in the direction of arrows (1), and while detaching the ventilator grille tabs from the dashboard, pull the wiring harness which was passed through in the previous step in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the ventilator grille.

Installation
1. Align the ventilator grille guide to the notch of the dashboard and install it in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
