ANY OF THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS ARE NOT ILLUMINATED WITH THE IGNITION SWITCHED ON: (ABS WARNING LIGHT, BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT, TCS/DSC INDICATOR LIGHT AND/OR DSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT) [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)]

Any of the following lights are not illuminated with the ignition switched ON: (ABS warning light, brake system warning light, TCS/DSC indicator light and/or DSC OFF indicator light)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • DSC HU/CM does not operate.

  • Communication error between DSC HU/CM and instrument cluster

  • DSC HU/CM internal malfunction

  • Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

CONFIRM DSC HU/CM DTC
  • Retrieve the DSC HU/CM DTC using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR ELSEWHERE
  • Switch the ignition ON.

  • Are other warning and indicator lights illuminated?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster for power supply and ground circuit.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INSPECTION.)

  • If there is a malfunction, repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.

    (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

INSPECT CONNECTION OF DSC HU/CM CONNECTOR
  • Inspect connection of the DSC HU/CM connector.

  • Is the DSC HU/CM connector connected securely?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Connect the DSC HU/CM connector securely, then go to the next step.

INSPECT CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR TERMINAL
  • Is there a poor connection in the DSC HU/CM, instrument cluster, or related-connector terminal?

Yes

Repair the poor connection location of the terminal.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC FOR CAN SYSTEM WIRING HARNESS
  • Retrieve the DSC HU/CM DTC using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Is the DTC U0001:88 present?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INSPECTION.)

  • If there is malfunction, replace the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

VERIFY DTC FOR MODULE COMMUNICATION
  • Retrieve the DSC HU/CM DTC using the M-MDS.

    (See DTC INSPECTION [DSC HU/CM].)

  • Is the DTC U0100:00, U0101:00, U0104:00, U0114:00, U0131:00, U0140:00, U0151:00, U0155:00, or U0235:00 present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (Communication error between each module (CAN))

(See DTC U0001:88/U0100:00/U0101:00/U012B:00/U0131:00/U0151:00/U0155:00 [DSC HU/CM].)

No

Inspect the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INSPECTION.)

  • If there is malfunction, replace the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.))
