BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT FLASH [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) SYSTEM]
NOTE:
If there is any vehicle malfunction complaint lodged by a customer, first perform malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure. (See FOREWORD [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) SYSTEM].)
Description
The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warningr light does not flash while under the flashing conditions.
Possible malfunction
NOTE:
The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module cannot receive echo-back correctly if there is a thick moisture film (such as condensation) covering the rear bumper radar emitting/receiving areas.
Non-genuine rear bumper or paint, or installation of after-market parts may negatively affect the radar echo-back ability of the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module.
The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module falsely detects a vehicle in the detection area as outside of it, or falsely detects a vehicle entering the area as not entering it.
Deviation of the radar emission direction (emission outside of warning area, adjacent lane) of radar from the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module.
Damage, deformity or looseness to blind spot monitoring (BSM) bracket or vehicle frame (including moderate impacts)
Incorrect installation of rear bumper, dirt on radar emitting/receiving area, application of stickers (including transparent types), repairs using putty application
The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module cannot receive echo-back correctly.
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module malfunction
Incorrect installation of rear bumper, dirt on radar emitting/receiving area, application of stickers (including transparent types), repairs using putty application
Effect of non-genuine, after-market electronic device installation
The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control modules do not detect turn signal operation.
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) malfunction
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) warningr light flashing-related malfunction
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) warningr light
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (RH) malfunction (malfunction in blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indicator flash circuit).
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) malfunction (flash request not output).
