DRAIN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Selector lever knob (AT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Shift lever knob (MT)
c. Shift panel assembly (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Parking brake lever boot panel(See PARKING BRAKE LEVER BOOT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
f. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
g. Scuff plate (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
h. Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
i. Wind blocker (See WIND BLOCKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
j. Seat back bar garnish (See SEAT BACK BAR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
k. Quarter trim (See QUARTER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
l. Rear side trim (See REAR SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
m. Roof hook lever (See ROOF HOOK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
n. Back trim (See BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the seat belt retractor installation bolts and set aside the seat belt retractor. (See SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the following parts:
a. Lock bracket (See LOCK BRACKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
b. Seat back crossmember assembly (See SEAT BACK CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
c. Side shelf (See SIDE SHELF REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
d. Convertible top (See CONVERTIBLE TOP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
e. Floor covering No.2 (See FLOOR COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Partially peel back the floor covering No.1

6. Insert the remover tool into the position shown in the figure.

7. While pressing the service hole cover in the direction of arrow (1), move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the service hole cover.
8. Lift up the vehicle.
9. Remove the charcoal canister. (Driver's side)(See CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
10. Remove the floor under cover.(Passenger's side)(See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
11. Press the tabs of the drain hose joint in the directions of the arrows shown in the figure and detach them from the body.

12. Remove the fasteners and clip.

13. Remove the rear beltline molding protector.
14. Bend the flap part of the drain cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

15. Move the rear beltline molding in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to a position where the fastener is visible.

16. Remove the fastener.
17. Pull the drain cover out of the body and remove it.

18. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Drain Cover Cleaning

  • Clean the drain cover using the following procedure.

1. While pressing the tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, move the upper drain filter in the direction of arrow (2) and remove it.

2. Remove the lower drain filter.

3. Clean the removed parts.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
